The Passion of David Witthoft, Henry Ford, and the Wright Brothers

Passion is something that 11-year-old David Witthoft has plenty. David, Green Bay Packer fan, he wore his Brett Favre football jersey every day for the past 4 years. That's right. David was wearing a jersey he received as a Christmas gift in 2003, every day. David was wearing a jersey for almost 4 years before he even attended a Packer football game and planning to wear a jersey in 2008.

passion can be defined as "a strong liking for or devotion to some activity, object or concept.

Wright Brothers flight is a passion and now we can fly from coast to coast in great comfort in about 6 hours or so. Jonas Salk's passion for seeing the disease polio is wiped out and today is no longer afraid of this terrible disease. Henry Ford had a passion for the mass production of a relatively new mode of transportation called the car and started a new industrial age.

We are called to be passionate followers of Jesus, committed to the concept, object, and actions of Christ. Our passion for Christ is meant to transform the world around us. Let us commit this year to find our passion and our share of helping the world become a better place.

Here is the passion of David as we enter 2008; passion of 11-year-old David and passion of the biblical David. And if you are worried about the smell of David's shirt, well, do not be! His mom is washed every other day.
